Supper Club on a Sunday night. Maybe I’m getting old, but I cringed when the restaurant picked was on Brady Street…I hate trying to find parking on Brady Street. But we had heard good things about the food at Easy Tyger so I happily got out of my jammies at 5PM Sunday evening and got ready to meet the girls out on Brady.
Easy Tyger was almost true to its word…it “blends Asian and American cuisines in a fun, casual atmosphere, with a focus on seasonal and locally inspired ingredients”. A night out with the Supper Club ladies is always fun, but our server wasn’t having it. She was a real sour-puss and really put a damper on our experience.
The menu is set up for sharing – best for two, in my opinion. Lindsay wasn’t feeling 100% so it kinda worked out that Becky & I shared three dishes (sorry, Lindsay…your veggie udon noodle soup did looked good). Continue reading →

Wednesdays are dubbed date nights in our house. Being that it’s still January & our New Year’s resolutions are not totally abandoned yet, we strapped on our Fitbits & went on a walk after work.
This is the new concept for the Colectivo owners. We’ve watched over the past few months as they pumped in over $500,000 of improvements into an old building on Oakland Avenue – including adding garage doors that will be awesome in summer and a massive fire pit. Opening night was packed – everyone who is anyone in Shorewood and then some were there – we took the last two seats in the restaurant, sharing a table with a young couple and their adorable baby. The concept is simple, order at the counter, wait for your number and eat at the short tables or comfy booths in the family-friendly establishment. Continue reading →
Tre Rivali at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel | Milwaukee, Third Ward
On a snowy weekday afternoon a few days after Christmas, my mother & I had a relaxing lunch at Tre Rivali. We were seated in a comfy leather corner booth with a view of the snowy intersection of E Chicago & N Broadway Streets.
The hotel itself is uniquely beautiful, which Tre Rivali enhances with its clean & bright interior, a mix of industrial & contemporary design with a splash of Mediterranean flair. My favorite part was the Hipster Cocktail Party playlist in the background, adding to the coolness. I imagine this is the type of restaurant where chic NYC magazine editors & fashionistas lunch.
